HIGH SCHOOL

Our Desire

Students between the ages of 14 and 18 are learning to become more independent and are seeking to understand who they are as individuals and who God is in their lives. High School is a time when students can often question, seek counsel, and decide to make the faith of their parents, their own. In a world where students often find that counsel in music, social media, and their peers, we at CCA aim to provide a safe environment for those questions, and a loving and guiding hand in pointing our students to the only One who truly saves.

What Sets Us Apart

CCA is a college preparatory school, seeking to prepare our students to launch into their college or career of choice. We are an AP Capstone school and have earned the designation of  AP Platinum school of Merit (which places us in the top 6 % of schools worldwide). We offer 17 different AP courses, including AP Seminar and AP Research. Our students have the opportunity to earn a Capstone diploma as well as receive college credits while learning all subjects through a Biblical world view.

*We do allow limited dual enrollment in some courses at EFSC.

The Arts

CCA has a vibrant arts program, offering Band, Chorus, Dance, Theatre, Praise Team,2d Art, 3D Art, and Digital art for our students. These programs provide rich experiences, as our students compete in local and state competitions, perform in our community, and use their gifts for God’s glory. Theater students perform a play or musical in the spring, while the other arts culminate in an Arts Showcase each April. CCA students are a talented bunch!

Distinguished Scholars Program

CCA offers an exciting program for highly motivated students who desire to investigate a future career of interest. Students are encouraged and stretched to take an area that they are passionate about beyond the four walls of the classroom, as they complete an internship and other career related activities. Students must complete an application for admission and additional graduation requirements for this program are determined by individual departments. Options include: Education, Biblical Leadership, English Journalism, Global Studies, Pre-Med, Pre-Engineering, Computer Science, and Marine Science.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will Advanced Placement (AP) courses be offered and, if so, which ones? CCA will be providing AP courses for high school students. We are currently working on which courses will be offered as we secure our teaching faculty for next year. Instructors of AP courses must go through specialized training provided by the College Board in order to be authorized to teach those courses. As our instructional staff is hired, and their credentials are reviewed, we will be adding to a list of AP courses we will offer. The courses we are looking to provide are within the English/language arts, math, science, and social studies subject areas.
What electives will CCA be offering in high school? CCA has always offered an advanced number of electives on our campus. We have offered classes in the Fine and Performing Arts (Visual Art, Band, Chorus, and Theatre Arts) that are not available elsewhere in Brevard County at any private or public school. We have also offered classes in Practical Arts (Culinary Arts, Computer, STEM, and Wood Shop). As we look at our 7th through 12th grades, we are looking to offer even more electives to provide students the ability to discover and develop their gifts and talents.
What will the academic day look like in high school?

CCA is working on developing our school course schedule for next year, but as we put together our plan, there are some essential aspects you should be aware of. All secondary students (5th through 12th grade) will have 8 courses per year. For high school, that means a student will have the opportunity to accumulate 32 credits on their final transcript, including 4 credits in Bible. Most public and private schools only attempt a total of 28 credits.

Will the Distinguished Scholars Program (DSP) continue from Covenant Christian School (CCS)?

We are working to transition the DSP program so students from CCS who have already begun their coursework may continue, but CCA will be expanding honors, recognitions, and endorsements for students who look to excel academically or focus on a particular area of study as they prepare for collegiate acceptance and participation.

What sports will CCA be offering in high school?

CCA is currently engaged in conversations with the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and a variety of other sports affiliations in the state of Florida to be able to field a variety of athletic sports for boys and girls. We fully intend to offer all sports previously offered at CCS and CCA, as well as a few that will be new to both schools.

What will the uniforms be for high school students next year?

We are working with All Uniform Wear to provide uniforms for our entire school PreK-12. Our High School students' uniform policy is the new branded CCA-logo polos from All Uniform Wear in the colors royal blue, grey, black, and white, white oxfords, and our BSN apparel. Along with that are khaki bottoms from All Uniform Wear.
